ZAGREB, Aug 28 (Hina) - The Croatian government will discuss its
operational priorities until the end of next year at a session on
Thursday. The agenda of the session will include a new draft system
of electricity tariffs. #L#
Last week the government discussed the draft electricity tariff
system, but the draft, which envisaged price increases of 15.2 per
cent on average for households, was returned to the Croatian Power
Supply (HEP) for amending.
According to the new draft, the prices of household electricity
would increase by nine per cent on average and HEP's revenue would
grow by 4.5 per cent, which is in line with the government's limits
of last week.
Following last week's approval of higher gas prices, the government
will tomorrow discuss a project on the development of the gas supply
system until 2011. The total value of the project is estimated at
half a billion dollars.
The government will discuss several items related to encouraging
foreign investments, including bills on investment stimulation,
free zones, and warehouses. The government will also discuss a
regulation on founding an agency for the promotion of export and
investment.
Government members are also to decide about grants for the purchase
of school books for children from disadvantaged families.
