tourist arrivals in Croatia were fewer than individual arrivals,

Of a total of 2.6 million tourists, 1.5 million arrived on their
own, which is an eight percent increase as against the first half of
2001, while 1.1 million tourists arrived via travel agencies, an
increase of four percent.
Organised arrivals accounted for 5.4 million overnights, four
percent more than in last year's six months, while individual
arrivals accounted for 5.1 million overnights, an increase of eight
percent.
In this year's first half, Croatia recorded a total of 10.5 million
overnight stays.
Foreign tourists arriving on their own, 1.1 million of them (nine
percent more than in the first half of 2001), accounted for ten
percent more overnights - 3.8 million. Organised arrivals brought
862,400 foreign tourists, four percent more.
As for domestic tourists, 370,800 arrived on their own, an increase
of four percent, accounting for 877,200 overnights, one percent
less than last year's first half. A four percent increase was
recorded with organised arrivals, which brought 226,700 tourists
who accounted for 743,100 overnights, an increase of two percent.
