KARLOVAC, Aug 2 (Hina) - President of the Croatian Party of Rights
(HSP) Anto Djapic on Friday expressed regret that the incident in
Sarengrad (on the Danube River) was not used to establish full
sovereignty and for the Croatian army to move in to the Croatian
Danube region. #L#
"An opportunity was let go in the Croatian Danube region to
establish full sovereignty on Croatian territory," Djapic said at a
press conference in Karlovac.
According to Djapic, the Serb side is not adhering to the Erdut
Agreement by which a 10 km belt from the border should be vacated by
the army.
The haughtiness and arrogance of the Serb army in the Danube should
be utilised and it should be declared that the border police is not
sufficient to guard the borders. The Croatian army should be called
in instead, he said.
He also believes that a more harsh reaction was required and the
Yugoslav Ambassador to Croatia be proclaimed a persona non-grata
after he refused to accept a protest note from Croatia's Foreign
Ministry.
