ZAGREB, July 30, (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivica Racan said
on Tuesday that he was aware of the fact that his government was
faced with a long and exhausting work, but that he believed it had
not yet stated everything it could and must do. #L#
He said he accepted the new government's election as a great
responsibility. Racan spoke to reporters following the
parliament's vote of confidence in his new government and its
programme.
The new defence minister, Zeljka Antunovic, said that she wanted a
lot with regards to her ministry, particularly a better organised
and efficient ministry.
Asked whether she feared protests because of announced dismissals
from the ministry, Antunovic said she was not afraid of protests
because they were always staged for a reason and positive messages
could be learnt from them.
Economy Minister Ljubo Jurcic said that the first steps in the
ministry would be to analyse Croatian industry and Croatia's
resources. This will be the basis for passing new measures and
increasing efficiency, he said.
Science Minister Gvozden Flego hopes that nothing would be changed
suddenly in his ministry. Some things must be continued, some
things changed, he said.
