The new government will not be confirmed by parliament on Friday,
July 26, as it had been announced, but most probably on Monday or
Tuesday or by the end of this month at the latest, Racan said. He
added the public would be informed of members of the new government
then.
He said he would inform his coalition partners of a draft programme
of the new government tomorrow. Racan said the programme would be
precise and concrete.
The premier designate said the programme would not be a surprise and
that it would be based on items established during a government
crisis in March.
The programme basically includes ten items relating to already
started reforms and development projects which the government
intends to successfully complete, as well as several new moves the
government intends to complete by the end of its mandate, Racan
said.
He said the priorities are the already started reforms and the
beginning of a reform in the judiciary and state administration.
The government programme would be transparent, Racan said.
Commenting on tonight's meeting of the SDP presidency, he said
members "only exchanged opinions", refusing to speak about a
meeting with parliament president and president of the Croatian
Peasants' Party Zlatko Tomcic in detail.
Asked whether a misunderstanding with a coalition partner, the HSS
was cleared, Racan said he did not see that as a misunderstanding.
