LJUBLJANA, July 18 (Hina) - The Slovenian army will fully be professionalised in 2010, but the compulsory military service will be discontinued in 2004, Slovenia's Defence Minister Anton Grizold was quoted by the national television
as saying on Wednesday.

Grizold urged an increase of the share of the military budget from
the current 1.67 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to at
least two percent.
He added that some moves should be taken as to make the job in the
military more attractive to Slovenians.
