Linn, who headed a World Bank delegation on a three-day visit to
Kosovo, on Wednesday held talks with Kosovo Premier Bajram Rexhepi,
President Ibrahim Rugova and the UN Civilian Administrator Michael
Steiner.
After the meeting with Rexhepi, the World Bank official said this
financial institution had so far invested 65 million dollars in
various projects in the area.
The World Bank will continue investing in the power industry,
schooling system, sports and culture.
The bank has assumed the obligation to assess the feasibility of a
project of the reconstruction of the road between Pristina and the
biggest Albanian port of Drac.
Linn said the bank considered the possibility of offering financial
assistance in the reconstruction of the Drac-Kukes-Pristina road,
and was cooperating with Albania's authorities in this field.
Kosovo Premier Rexhepi added that the project could be enlarged to
cover the renovation of the road until Merdar at the Kosovo-Serbian
boundary line.
