In a press statement following the meeting, Curlin said that Greece
wanted to cooperate in planning and financing and construction
particularly in the sector of road construction, water supply and
power.
The two sides also discussed what each country had done so far with
regard to preparations for the construction of the Adriatic-Ionian
Highway which represents a priority for Greece along with the
Zagreb-Belgrade-Salonica Highway.
The Greek delegation, Curlin said, expressed great satisfaction
with progress on the Zagreb-Dalmatia Highway which largely
coincides with the Adriatic-Ionnian Highway. They are satisfied
with the deadline by which the highway is intended to reach Split.
Minister Cokadzopulos told journalists he was convinced that the
period up to 2010 would be exceptionally significant for the
development of all the countries in the region.
He added that Greece was interested in projects in power and natural
gas, telecommunications and tourism.
