The two presidents agreed it was necessary for the refugees,
regardless of their current place of residence, to attend the fall
elections in Bosnia.
Mesic called on Croats in Bosnia to exercise their civil right by
going to the polls. "Failing to go to the polls can only cause damage
to the interests of Bosnian Croats," he said.
Mesic said he and Kostunica also discussed a law on national
minorities. He said a bill on minorities would soon be forwarded
into parliamentary procedure in Croatia.
According to Mesic, the Yugoslav president expressed interest in
"some trials in Croatia", alluding to the trials of Croatian
citizens of Serb nationality, who are being tried in absentia.
Kostunica said he and Mesic also discussed visa problems, i.e. the
queuing of Croatian citizens outside the Croatian consulate in
Belgrade.
