In the declaration, Croatia, Bosnia and Yugoslavia without any
reservations support obligations they have assumed in their
bilateral relations as well as in relations with the international
community.
The signatories attach special importance to the consistent
implementation of the Dayton Accords as the foundation for the
further development and construction of the sovereign and
internationally recognised Bosnia-Herzegovina, as well as to the
full cooperation with the Hague-based UN war crimes tribunal, in
compliance with the Dayton agreement and national legislation,
believing that it will be a path which will enable the
individualisation of the guilt and the rejection of the collective
responsibility.
They confirm their willingness to create conditions for the return
of refugees and internally displaced people who would like to
return to their pre-war homes.
The declaration describes the regional cooperation as an
instrument for fortifying peace and stability in the region.
The participants in the Sarajevo summit meeting advocate the
regional control and reduction of arms. They express their
readiness to help counter terrorism and organised cross-border
crime.
The three countries' leaders back all measures aimed at removing
obstacles for a free flow of people, goods, services and capital,
and highlight the need to annul visas.
They are also in favour of free trade and the stimulation and
protection of investments.
The signatories call on the governments of the three countries to
make additional efforts in the promotion of good-neighbourly
relations, cooperation and stability in the region, in accordance
with the Sarajevo declaration.
The top-level three-way meeting of the presidents of Croatia and
Yugoslavia, and the Bosnian collective Presidency was the first
summit of the said countries since the war. The talks, held in
Sarajevo, were covered by tightened security.
