The United States is very satisfied with the level of cooperation
between Croatia and the ICTY, the daily cited Prosper after his
talks with Croatian officials in Zagreb.
The US Ambassador in charge of war crimes issues promised Croatia
legal assistance aimed at enabling national courts to try persons
indicted for war crimes by the ICTY, the Washington Times said.
Croatia steams ahead of other countries in the region and it made
good progress in bids to solve the issue of responsibility for war
crimes, Prosper said.
The daily said that several war crimes suspects were currently
being tried in Croatia based on an agreement with the Hague-based
tribunal in May.
