ZAGREB, July 4 (8Hina) - The session of the Croatian parliament was
interrupted for fifteen minutes on Thursday morning due to an
insult which a Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) deputy, Ljubo Cesic
Rojs, hurled at a Croatian People's Party (HNS) representative
Vesna Pusic. #L#
"Your grandfathers drank enough Croatian blood," Cesic Rojs told
Pusic, after a commotion in the parliament's hall caused by Cesic's
insistence on the recounting of MPs' votes during the voting on
amendments to a bill on the religious communities' legal position.
During the voting on bills on Wednesday and Thursday this HDZ
representative several times claimed that the counting of votes was
incorrect and contrary to the parliament's rule book.
On Thursday morning, MP Pusic complained that Cesic Rojs was taking
over the chairmanship of the session, and this comment provoked
Cesic's harsh reaction and insult levelled at Pusic.
The chairman of the session, Mato Arlovic, therefore expelled the
HDZ MP and gave a 15-minute-long break for the benches to bring
their deputies into line.
