The judge declined to comment on the decision by the Supreme Court
to reject a proposal by the state prosecutor to have the trial
transferred to some other court. The Supreme Court described the
prosecution's request as unfounded.
It was due to this request that the trial was adjourned on June 20.
The trial of eight former military policemen, one of whom is on the
run, began in the Split County Court on June 10. The suspects are
accused of abusing military prisoners and civilians as well as of
the murder of Nenad Knezevic and Gojko Bulovic.
