ZAGREB, June 6 (Hina) - A foundation established by the Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ)has announced it would file a complaint
before the Zagreb Municipal Court, stressing that today's court
decision to freeze funds on its foreign exchange account had made
the foundation's functioning more difficult. #L#
The foundation issued a statement pointing out the "political
motivation of the act".
"After two and a half years of unsuccessful rule of the five
parties, and at the time when its leaders are hurriedly preparing
for new elections, another attack on the foundation and the HDZ is
completely expected," the statement, signed by the foundation's
director, Zdeslav Milas, said.
Zagreb's Municipal Court on Thursday made a temporary decision
whereby the foundation is forbidden to use about EUR1.5 million on
the foundation's account at Privredna banka, due to suspicion that
the money was gathered by Croatian emigrants for Croatia's
defence.
