ZAGREB, June 26 (Hina) - Branimir Glavas, a senior Croatian

language", the HDZ says in Wednesday's letter to the Media Council
of the Croatian Helsinki Committee on Human Rights (HHO). #L#
The HHO Media Council last week requested the strongest opposition
party to take a position on Glavas' inappropriate behaviour,
evaluating that it constituted "a threat and an attack on the part
of a political leader against a journalist, with the purpose of
obstructing and preventing her from doing her work."
According to the HDZ letter, Glavas told party president Ivo
Sanader he had been very upset by journalistic provocation and, in
the heat of the moment, insulted Croatian Television's Sandra
Krizanec. The letter states he is willing to apologise.
"We regret that this incident occurred, but also hope for a better
communication and mutual respect among all in Croatian society,"
reads the letter.
According to media articles, which nobody refuted, Glavas late in
May inappropriately and using foul language insulted Krizanec
after she mentioned him in a story about persons under court
investigation.
