Podravka's aim is to become a leading distributor in Serbia. For
this purpose, it has been agreed that Podravka take over the
distribution of Nestle products on the Serbian market as of the end
of July, and it will invest over one million euros in its
distribution network here, Besvir said at a news conference.
He added Podravka was interested in taking part in the
privatisation process in Serbia, and would like to obtain stocks in
the Frikom and Takovo companies.
At the moment, there are 60 Podravka products in Serbia, but the
Croatian company plans to broaden the range of its goods, Besvir
said.
Prior to the war, in the 1980s and early 1990s, Podravka's earnings
from sales in Serbia accounted for 40 percent of the company's total
earnings, while 60 percent of raw material came from Serbia.
