Mrs. Knezevic stated that on June 13, 1992 five uniformed persons
conducted a raid of her apartment without a warrant and took her
husband Nenad Knezevic away. She said that she did not know where
her husband was taken to, but, on June 15 she heard rumours that he
had been wounded. This information was confirmed by the local
hospital stating that he had been taken in with bullet wounds in his
arms and legs, broken ribs, and a damaged kidney. Nine days later he
died on a dialysis machine. Marija Knezevic said that not one
government body offered her an explanation how her husband ended up
in hospital.
Asked by the defence she answered that she had no idea that any
charges had been brought against her husband due to armed rebellion
against the Republic of Croatia.
The second witness, Davor Perisic, a prison guard at the time in the
Lora Military Jail, remained steadfast with his statement in 1992
in which he noted that one night he attempted to re-animate Gojko
Bulovica however, without success but that he did not see any
injuries on the deceased. He responded negatively to almost every
question stating that he could not remember.
