Bosnia-Herzegovina will once again raise the issue at the next
session of the Croatian-Bosnian Council for Co-operation, said
Dragan Mikerevic.
"We wish to resolve the existing problems in relations with Croatia
in a spirit of tolerance so that we can develop good neighbourly
relations. Sensitive issue should not be approached nervously," he
told journalists following a session of the Council of Ministers,
which adopted a platform for the Bosnian side at a meeting with
senior Croatian officials on June 17 in Sarajevo.
Mikerevic confirmed that the Bosnian government did not object to
the Ploce port's board of directors having seven instead of six
members and that these be only representatives from Croatia and
Bosnia, without any foreigners who would pass judgements in
contentious situations as foreseen in the text of an agreement that
was ratified by the Bosnian but not the Croatian parliament.
"Our condition, however, is that the agreement must first be
ratified by in the Croatian Sabor," Mikerevic said.
He also announced that there existed proposals for a way out of this
situation which he said boiled down to whether the agreement should
first be ratified and then changed, or visa versa.
He confirmed that early next week several agreements relating to
co-operation between Croatia and Bosnia would be ready for
signing.
