ZAGREB, June 12 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Thursday should discuss a bill on violations of financial regulations which would allow the Ministry of Finance to set up a violations department, while a separate law would regulate
the establishment of a financial court which would deal with the violations.

discuss a bill on violations of financial regulations which would
allow the Ministry of Finance to set up a violations department,
while a separate law would regulate the establishment of a
financial court which would deal with the violations. #L#
Financial violations are now regulated by some 40 laws and the bill
categorises them according to area, relationship and seriousness,
as well as prescribing sanctions for certain violations, sanctions
for physical and legal persons.
Financial violations would include fines and protective measures
including the restriction of conducting business or other official
duties.
The fines would amount between $US60 and $US60,000 and in
exceptional cases up to $US120,000, for example for violations that
result in a significant profit.
The bill would relate to the violations of tax, customs and foreign
currency regulations, and regulations on contribution and
insurance.
