Linic expressed gratitude for the WTO's support to and trust in
Croatia, and said it was important to understand the economic
problems in Croatia.
The government is satisfied with the fact that around 85 percent of
Croatian foreign trade is based on the principles of liberal trade,
said Linic. He supported the other countries in the region on their
path towards WTO membership so that trade relations might become
even more liberalised.
Moore stressed the importance of the WTO ministerial conference
being held in Zagreb for countries of central and south-eastern
Europe.
The conference is an opportunity to help the further development of
the region and liberalisation of world trade, he said, adding that
such conferences contributed to a better flow of information among
WTO members.
The WTO will continue supporting Croatia in its efforts to improve
economic conditions, both in the country and the region, Moore
said.
