entrepreneurship in Croatia included the introduction of new
programmes, particularly for new entrepreneurs, the development of
entrepreneurial zones and centres in each county, and the creation
of new Croatian products.
Last year, 2,700 people found employment in small businesses. A
programme of development of small businesses envisages that a total

by 2005.
Preparations are underway for the establishment of a bank for small
businesses, Pecek said, announcing the start of operation of the
Croatian Association of Co-operatives. Preparations are also
underway for the establishment of an agency for small businesses.
A round table on the role of the local community in the development
of small businesses will be held at the conference today. One of the

stimulation in Austria and Slovenia, the international activities
of the Ministry of Crafts, and Small and Medium-Scale Businesses,
