discussed bilateral cooperation with the US Secretary of State's

At the talks in Zagreb, Premier Racan and the US official expressed
satisfaction with the cooperation between the two countries and
hope that it would be intensified, read a statement released by the
government's public relations office.
Jones relayed her country's congratulations to Croatia on entry
into NATO's Membership Action Plan (MAP). She also commended Zagreb
for the progress it made in reforms and partnership with the
Alliance as well as for its contribution to the stability of south-
eastern Europe.
Racan said his country was intensively working on the improvement
of relations with its neighbours.
He stressed that in the aftermath of the war Croatia was still faced
with the security problem, and added this was another reason why the
country was resolute in the fight against terrorism.
Jones stressed Croatia's role as a partner in the fight against
terrorism, saying the United States appreciated very much what
Croatia had done for peace in the region.
