The United States firmly supports Bosnia as a multiethnic society
based on the rule-of-law, Jones told reporters after her meeting
with Bosnian Foreign Minister Zlatko Lagumdzija.
She said the new international High Representative, Paddy Ashdown,
would enjoy Washington's full support in his efforts to reform the
judicial system and ensure the respect for law in Bosnia.
Jones said the strengthening of European countries' role in Bosnia
would not bring into question America's further engagement in
Bosnia.
Bosnia is a part of Europe and European countries should be present
here more strongly, she added.
The US official said her country's engagement in the international
Stabilisation Force (SFOR) in Bosnia remained to be a part of the
collective policy created by NATO.
