There will be 14 clubs from the Bosnian Federation in the First
League and six clubs from Republika Srpska, Dominkovic told Hina
over the phone.
He said that the move to unite into one league was suggested by FIFA
and UEFA. Soccer activists have hesitated for years to combine into
one joint league in Bosnia, explaining this politically, so only
teams from the Federation were able to compete in European soccer
championships.
According to Dominkovic, the united league will increase Bosnian
and Croatia's soccer reputation to jointly compete to host the
European Soccer Championship in 2008 for which the two countries
would official submit their request in Lyon on June 19.
