Jakovcevic opened a show-exhibition of Croatian naive artists in
Ottawa on Tuesday. The funds from the exhibition are earmarked for
mine removal projects and mine victims in Croatia.#L#
The exhibition will be open until June 7. Twelve artists will
exhibit about 40 pieces worth between 1,000 and 1,500 Canadian
dollars. About ten paintings were sold on the night of the opening.
The exhibition was jointly organised by the Croatian Embassy in
Canada, the Croatian Foreign Ministry and the Croatian fraternity
association.
The opening was attended by members of the Canadian parliament,
foreign ministry officials, members of the Croatian fraternity
association, diplomatic representatives in Ottawa, Canadian
businessmen, Croatian emigrants and eminent persons from public
and cultural life.
