ZAGREB, May 10 (Hina) - The message of the Zagreb conference of European parliamentary presidents is clear - terrorism in Europe cannot be fought by just one country, or even just a group of countries, but it must be an operation of
all European countries based on common European standards and it must not be to the detriment of human and civil rights, the President of the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly, Peter Schieder, told Hina on Friday.

Schieder also said that Croatia had progressed greatly in
fulfilling its obligations as a member of the Council of Europe.
More than two-thirds of those obligations have been fulfilled and
those that remain are being worked on by the Croatian Sabor, which
is demonstrating full readiness for the task, Schieder said.
This primarily refers to some constitutional issues and the
organisation of the judiciary, Schieder said. He commended the
activities of the Croatian delegation at the Council of Europe
Assembly.
Asked to evaluate security measures at the Zagreb conference,
Schieder said that the entire organisation, including security
matters, was in line with European standards.
