CROATIA'S HEAD OF STATE ARRIVES IN LJUBLJANA

LJUBLJANA, May 9 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic arrived in Slovenia on Thursday to attend the congress of the International Press Institute (IPI), being held in Ljubljana between May 9 and 11.#L# The congress will be attended by numerous politicians and media experts. "I will speak about the freedom of the press, because the freedom of the press is directly linked to the development of democracy and media can develop only in a democratic society," President Mesic told Hina. Later today, Mesic will pay an unofficial visit to Slovene President Milan Kucan who is recovering from a successful operation of kidney stones in the Ljubljana hospital. (hina) it
