"With great pleasure, I congratulate You on the victory at the
presidential election. France has shown once again that it knows
how to commit when big values like democracy and freedom are at
stake," Mesic said in a note.
The note added that in the past two years Croatian-French relations
"moved along a constant ascending line" thanks to President
Chirac.
Mesic repeated his invitation to Chirac to officially visit
Croatia.
