ZAGREB/THE HAGUE, May 2 (Hina) - Former Deputy Prime Minister in the Yugoslav government Nikola Sainovic will enter his plea before the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) on Friday morning, the Hague
tribunal announced on Thursday.
ZAGREB/THE HAGUE, May 2 (Hina) - Former Deputy Prime Minister in the
Yugoslav government Nikola Sainovic will enter his plea before the
International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY)
on Friday morning, the Hague tribunal announced on Thursday.#L#
Sainovic surrendered on Thursday along with one of the "Omarska"
war camp commanders, Momcilo Gruban.
Sainovic is accused along with former Yugoslav president Slobodan
Milosevic and three other close associates, of crimes against
humanity and violations of war laws and customs committed with the
deportation of 800,000 Kosovo Albanians during 1999, the murder of
Albanians and the destruction of their property as well as the
destruction of religious and cultural monuments.
The former commander of military headquarters Dragoljub Ojdanic
surrendered to the Hague tribunal last week while former Serbian
police minister Vlajko Stojiljkovic committed suicide.
The warrant also contains the name of Serbia's current president,
Milan Milutinovic whom Belgrade does not wish to extradite to The
Hague.
