"Experts know best how the issue has to be settled, and only then can politicians make decisions," Mesic said during a reception for representatives of the Slovene-Croatian Friendship Society. Added Mesic, "It is questionable if Croatia has a safe area for dealing with the waste after the nuclear power plan has been closed down." "Some say it is safe but I wouldn't risk. Experts and scientists should say that, and a decision will then easily be made," he said.
