The SUNH requested expanding the right to unemployment allowance to
include the other people registered with the Employment Bureau and
recognising length of service for retirement for longer periods of
unemployment.
The SUNH urged the government and parliament to include the
associations of the unemployed in the resolving of the unemployment
issue.
The SUNH, which is comprised of four associations with 5,000
members, also requested making bid invitations compulsory for all
jobs and giving the unemployed precedence for part-time jobs.
SUNH president Miroslav Levakovic told the ruling coalition it was
high time it started dealing with unemployment unless it wanted to
lose at the next elections.
In the two years the coalition has been in power, the number of
people with no job rose by 73,000, said Levakovic.
