Following Wednesday's protest in the border village of Debalde,
Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski met KFOR commander for
Kosovo Marcel Valentin, and expressed his concern over the protests
which could be utilised to arouse an incident in Macedonia.
Trajkovski expressed concern over an announcement by the Kosovo
parliament that it would pass a declaration which will request the
UN to revise the Border Agreement signed last year between
Macedonia and Yugoslavia, the Macedonian President's cabinet
stated.
Defence Minister Vlado Popovski said that former members of the
Kosovo defence corps had entered Macedonian territory near
Tanusevac and Lojana and have been hyping up the local population to
continue the war.
Macedonian Radio reported that the armed Albanians were
supervising roads in Tetovo and abusing Macedonian drivers. The
same source claims that since Thursday morning several areas of
Tetovo as well as the local road toward Jazinci were blocked by
Albanians who were preventing any access to combined national
police patrols. The day started with frequent gun fire in several
areas of Tetovo. A strong explosion was heard in the Mala Recica
quarter, Macedonian Radio reported.
