ISTOK, March 27 (Hina) - Eighty Kosovo Albanians were set free from a prison near Istok, in western Kosovo on Wednesday. The 80 are of 145 prisoners who were transported on Tuesday from Serbian prisons.

The prisoners who were set free were imprisoned exclusively for
political reasons.
Several thousands of citizens greeted them in front of the prison,
mostly family members.
The prison was visited by the UN civil administrator to Kosovo,
Michael Steiner, who met with the prisoners.
After today's release of the 80 prisoners, 32 others might be
released next week, while others, convicted of classic crimes, will
serve the rest of their sentences.
Among those released today are Nait Hasani and Besim Rama,
sentenced by the Belgrade court to 20 years for terrorism.
