"I believe there is hope for an agreement," Pavic told reporters
after a session of the Zagreb City Assembly. She dismissed claims
that she withdrew the resignation at somebody's urging, saying SDP
president Ivica Racan did not ask her to do so.
The SDP and the HNS cannot reach an agreement on the appointment of
the capital's authorities.
Pavic said the withdrawal of the resignation was a concession and
that if the HNS wanted to cooperate, it would have to do something as
well.
She announced talks would be held within the next week in an attempt
to reach an agreement.
