Albania's capital Tirana on Thursday morning to attend the 5th
South East Europe Co-operation Process (SEECP) Summit.#L#
The summit will focus on regional cooperation and stability and the
future role of the SEECP.
President Mesic met his Albanian counterpart Rexep Meidani.
The SEECP is a regional initiative started in 1996, under the name
of the Balkans' Initiative, aiming at promoting cooperation,
stability and security in the region. The SEECP comprises Albania,
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Romania,
Yugoslavia and Turkey, while Croatia has an observer status.
At the summit, Mesic will speak about the significance of regional
cooperation. He will hold several bilateral talks on the margins of
the summit.
The meeting will also be attended by the presidents of Albania,
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Romania, as well as
the prime ministers of Greece and Yugoslavia, the Turkish Foreign
Minister, The Stability Pact Coordinator and UN Civil
Administrator in Kosovo.
The adoption of a final document is expected this afternoon.
