KOSOVO PRESIDENT SAYS HE WILL TESTIFY AGAINST MILOSEVIC

PRISTINA, March 6 (Hina) - Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova said on Wednesday he will testify against former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic before the UN war crimes tribunal at The Hague. In his first television interview as Kosovo's first internationally recognised president, Rugova confirmed he will be one of the witnesses against Milosevic and that he is willing to testify about the persecution of ethnic Albanians. One of the chief priorities of Kosovo's newly elected institutions is achieving independence for Kosovo, Rugova said. He added that he will request the most influential countries of the European Union and the United States to recognise Kosovo. Rugova called on Kosovo Serbs to recognise the newly elected institutions as, he said, they now have their representatives in parliament and one minister.
