BELGRADE, March 25 (Hina) - The Yugoslav Supreme Defence Council on Monday did not accept a proposal of President Vojislav Kostunica that Yugoslav Army Chief-of-Staff Nebojsa Pavkovic, involved in a spy scandal this month in which the
military arrested a Serbian deputy premier and a U.S. diplomat, be sacked, sources close to the Serbian government told Hina. According to Serbian media, Kostunica had proposed that Army Chief of Staff Nebojsa Pavkovic be fired. But other members of the Supreme Defence Council wanted a debate and the issue was then postponed for a week. The session was interrupted due to "a cramped agenda", but it will resume.
