"The practice is such that an issue is repeated on the agenda until
it is drained," Dimitrij Grcar, an under-secretary at the Slovene
Economy Ministry, told Slovene Radio. Grcar led the Slovene
delegation at the WTO Council session.
According to him, Slovenia will initiate discussions on the
contentious measures before the Council until it is satisfied with
Croatia's changes to the regulations, which, he said, represented a
"system and regional problem" because they decreased
competitiveness of Slovene producers.
Grcar, however, said that Slovenia would still not sue Croatia
before the WTO, but this possibility was not excluded if Croatia's
response to Slovenia's demands was not satisfactory.
