ZAGREB, March 6 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament on Wednesday continued its 20th session by adopting a draft law on the privatisation of th Croatian power industry HEP. The draft law introduces a restriction that no individual can
become the owner of more than ten percent of HEP shares, which will be secured by stock quotations at the stock exchange. As long as the state is the owner of more than 10% of HEP's shares, noone can gradually of immediately purchase more than 10% of the company's shares without the government's consent. MPs did not accept a motion by the Croatian Party of Rights-Croatian Christian Democratic Union party bench that the government should, until the second reading submit to the parliament an assessment of HEP's value. Adopted were also drafts of a credible interpretation of provisions of the Law on Tobacco and the Law on Forests. (hina) lml
