MPS THROW OUT KAJIN'S REQUEST FOR GOVT TO INFORM PARLIAMENT ON RESIGNATION OF FIVE MINISTERS

ZAGREB, Feb 28 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament continued its regular session on Thursday despite a request by Istrian Democratic Assembly's Damir Kajin that a government member come into parliament and inform the MPs about last night's resignation of five ministers. Kajin asserted that the country was in a "deep political crisis" and that after the five ministers resigned, the MPs did not know what was going on. All five ministers from the ranks of the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) last night submitted their resignations to the prime minister after the party's Governing Council on Tuesday decided to recall three of them. Parliament speaker Zlatko Tomcic said the parliament can continue its regular work. At the start of today's session the parliament endorsed several bills, including a bill on exemption from participation fees, draft amendments to the law on the unique citizens' identification number and a bill on urban zoning. The MPs unanimously reached a decision on the division of funds, rights and obligations and the schedule of employees of the Croatian Radio and Television.
