SARAJEVO, Feb 28 (Hina) - The Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina on Thursday appointed Dragan Mikerevic candidate for the post of Council of Ministers chairman for the upcoming eight-month mandate. Under the Bosnian Constitution and the
Council of Ministers' Rule Book, the post of Council chairman is rotated every eight months. The mandate of Zlatko Lagumdzija, the current chairman of the Council, expires on March 15, and according to rotation rules a Serb minister is the next to be appointed to the post. Mikerevic is a member of the Council of Ministers in charge of European integration. He is a member of the Party of Democratic Progress (PDP), which is headed by the premier of the Bosnian Serb entity, Mladen Ivanic. Mikerevic's candidacy must be confirmed by the House of Representatives of the Bosnian Parliament.(hina) sb rml
