Chicago Croatians wanted to receive Jelavic at the 12th annual assembly on March 9. Their guest was also to be speaker of the Croatian parliament, Zlatko Tomcic. "We are disappointed and angry that George W. Bush's government is treating the US Croatian community in this way, which supported him in the past elections," Peraica said. political mood during this year's congressional electoral campaign
