Napredak's president Silvio Markovic said he believed further democratisation of Montenegro and its possible independence would mean a better position for Croats, since now they were only an ethnic group and did not even enjoy the status of national minority, He added Croatia's assistance to Boka Kotorska Croats was expected, especially from Dubrovnik.
