WITNESS TESTIMONIES CONTINUE IN GOSPIC GROUP TRIAL

RIJEKA, Feb 22 (Hina) - At the trial against the Gospic Group in Rijeka, witness Radomir Panjevic testified about his mother's disappearance from Gospic in October 1991. He said the then commander of the Lika crisis centre, Ante Karic, had told him 12 men had been executed in Pozariste, with Mirko Norac directly involved, and under Tihomir Oreskovic's orders. Oreskovic said that, according to information he had received, none of the indictees in this case had nothing to do with the apprehension of Panjevic's mother, and he had learnt from her neighbour that her being taken away was "a classic crime, an act of a person known for and who inclined towards crime". Premuz said he did not know who liquidated the civilians, and presumed these were persons from a line of vehicles which arrived at the scene. He saw none of the indicted either at the meeting or at the liquidation site, he said. (hina) lml sb
