RIJEKA, Feb 18 (Hina) - Sinisa Glusac, a witness in a war crimes trial against the so-called Gospic group at the Rijeka County Court, did not respond to a Panel of Judges subpoena for Monday's hearing. As the witness failed to show up
for the hearing for the second time, the Panel's president, judge Ika Saric, ordered investigating why the subpoena was not served to the witness. Previous witnesses claimed Glusac was present at a so-called deadly meeting, at which it was allegedly decided about executions in the Gospic area and Pazariste. The wife of one civilian killed at Lipova glavica in October 1991 testified at today's hearing. The trial resumes Tuesday. Five men from the so-called Gospic group are accused of the killing of at least 42 civilians at the end of 1991 in Gospic. The principal defendant, Tihomir Oreskovic, was the president of a crisis headquarters in Gospic at the time.(hina) np sb
