ZAGREB, Feb 20 (Hina) - Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Goran Granic confirmed on Wednesday that the Hague-based international war crimes tribunal had decided to release Croatian General Rahim Ademi until the start of the trial. We are
expecting General Ademi in Croatia tomorrow, Granic told reporters. "This is confidence in the Croatian state and legal system and this government," Granic said when asked whether Ademi's release was progress in relations between the tribunal and Croatia. While out of detention, Ademi is a private person. He will be preparing for his defence, and will not be able to perform any official duties nor would he be able to communicate with the media, he said. Croatian General Rahim Ademi has been indicted of war crimes committed in the Pocket of Medak in 1993. He has spent seven months in detention since his surrender to the tribunal.(hina) lml
