CROATIA'S EUROPEAN INTEGRATION MINISTER ENDS VISIT TO BRUSSELS

BRUSSELS, Feb 1 (Hina) - The European Union expects Croatia to set an example to other countries in the Stabilisation and Association Process and show the Process can function, Croatia's European Integration Minister Neven Mimica said on Friday at the end of his visit to Brussels, where he held talks with EU officials. "It is an interesting and good sign that our hosts in Brussels were interested exclusively in Croatia's economic indicators and not the political situation," Mimica said. Mimica today held talks with Javier Conde, Spain's Ambassador at the EU. "Spain is making efforts to help Croatia prove this year that it is capable of implementing the Stabilisation and Association Agreement and participating in regional cooperation so that it may take the best possible position for the second enlargement round once countries to be included in the first round are known. The difference between Croatia and the other countries in the Stabilisation and Association Process will have to reflect on Croatia's future status," Mimica said. The Croatian minister also visited the company Euroactiv, which is designing the EU's web site. Croatia wants to be included in the web site, Mimica said. (hina) sb rml
