OSIJEK, Jan 31 (Hina) - The Croatian customs authorities discovered four tonnes of smuggled fuel in a cistern entering Croatia from Bosnia-Herzegovina at the border crossing of Nova Gradiska on Wednesday night. The cistern, bearing
Zagreb registration plates and owned by a private company, had transported 261 tonnes of fuel from Omisalj in Croatia to the Stabilisation Force (SFOR) base at Zivinice in Bosnia. However, obviously not all fuel was poured out at the SFOR base, the head of the Osijek customs office, Petar Bosnjakovic, said at a press conference on Thursday. The customs officers discovered in the cistern's hindmost compartment around four tonnes of a mixture of diesel and petrol which is used by military freight vehicles exclusively in winter conditions.(hina) rml
