PARLIAMENT ENDS SESSION WITH DISCUSSION ON FUNDS

ZAGREB, Jan 29 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament ended its Tuesday sitting with deputies presenting their stands on the draft financial plans of two budgetary funds - for development and employment, and regional development, worth around 3.7 billion kuna. The deputies objected the drafts were not transparent and warned they did not include concrete programmes, projects and models of their realisation. Concluding his speech, Deputy Finance Minister Damir Kustrak said that the parliament, while adopting the state budget for this year, had also voted a consolidated plan, which included the funds' revenues and expenses. The adoption of the financial plans should have been exclusively the confirmation of the already adopted plan, Kustrak said. Stating that regulations on the management of the funds have not been adopted yet and that parliamentary representatives have still not been appointed to the funds' management boards

Stating that regulations on the management of the funds have not been adopted yet and that parliamentary representatives have still not been appointed to the funds' management boards, as well as that some items in the drafts have not been defined entirely, Kustrak said all these conditions would be met before the final vote on the drafts. The parliament resumes the session tomorrow. (hina) sb rml
