ZAGREB, Jan 21 (Hina) - Over the last two years the Crafts, Small and Medium-Sized Businesses Ministry has allocated 4.2 million kuna (approx. EUR558,500) as support to Croatian innovators and innovation-based business projects. This
has been done as part of the Commercialisation of Innovations programme, whose results were presented on Monday. The Crafts Ministry has earmarked 2.5 million kuna (approx. EUR332,450) for the programme this year. The ministry launched the programme in 2000 in cooperation with the Croatian Alliance of Innovators in order to encourage innovations in Croatia and placing new products on the market. The programme consists of approving non-repayable loans to innovators via a special 20 million kuna (EUR2.66 million) credit line. The president of the Croatian Alliance of Innovators, Darko Rohlic,
handed Crafts Minister Zeljko Pecek a Commander of Merit medal
presented by the Senior Commission of the Eureka exhibition held in
Brussels last autumn for advocating innovation.
